FOR TIPS ON YOUR PROFILE, REFER TO OTHER APP PROFILES
The Video below explains how to add and amend content to your services.
Is you have some good videos suitable for a patient, not DCPs please add them to your profile, and that way everyones content will improve. These were made some time ago. I will make some animations in the future.
There are few good two minute videos explaining procedures for patients. If you have some good video examples please DM me, and I'll update the content below for everyones benefit.
ROOT FILLING
Sometimes if the tooth becomes infected, the options are either extraction or a root filling.
These procedures take a little longer with a variable success rate, but with modern technology and ever improving materials, outcomes are continually improving. See the video on root fillings in dental therapy for more information.

TOOTH WHITENING
Tooth whitening has been safely carried out for many years using a simple bleaching tray method either overnight. It works for any age. If you have existing fillings or crowns, they may need replacing as their colour does not change. This is an example of someone over 40. After 20 years a crown appeared lighter than their natural teeth, rather than replace the crown with a darker one. It's less expensive and lightens the teeth to how they looked 20 years ago.

SINGLE VISIT CROWNS
We are now able to make large restorations by taking a picture, and milling the material while you wait, then glueing the restoration in place all on the same visit, with a single injection if required.

ADHESIVE BRIDGES
This current bridge example initially has two metal "wings". One "wing' was removed 30 years ago. Since then it has remained in place. Most adhesive bridges are now generally made in this manner, as we have learnt by our experience. The advantage is they retain most of the supporting natural tooth. No anaesthetic is required, and they are a relatively inexpensive option compared to an implant, and easier to maintain healthy gum compared to a denture at a similar cost.

ADULT ORTHODONTICS
You are never too old to have your teeth straightened. Using new technology such as the iTero and Invisalign systems used here, your teeth can be aligned, making them easier to clean and therefore your teeth and gums more healthy. And of course, your smile is also improved.

FLEXIBLE DENTURES
Newer materials are always becoming available. Dentures can be made and often when multiple teeth are missing may be a less costly and more appropriate alternative to dental implants. This is one example.

WHITE FILLINGS
Modern filling materials are not only tooth coloured to blend better with your natural tooth, they are also glued to the tooth to provide an extra layer of protection. Through years of practice and study, I can place fillings that mimic the shape of the natural tooth and are almost undetectable when compared to other, more basic white fillings. The procedure is painless due to potent modern anaesthetics and is usually completed within 30-45 minutes.

CROWNS
Sometimes a tooth is badly broken down or painful because of a fracture. Crowns can be used to reinforce the remaining tooth and, using modern materials, vastly improve the aesthetics and the function. Photos show preparation and fit of a crown made in a dental lab which requires the taking of a mould, a temporary crown, and a second visit to have the stronger aesthetic crown fitted.

IMPLANTS
We are delighted to be able to offer dental implants in-house at Elgin Park. From the initial consultation to high-quality after-care, we aim to put you at ease throughout by fully explaining each step of the process. If you would like more information about dental implants or would like to book a free consultation, please contact us at Reception@ElginPark.co.uk or by telephone on 0117 9735677.

VENEERS
A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, veneers improve the aesthetics of a smile and/or protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental lab, and later bonded to the tooth, typically using a resin cement. In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated
