DCP SYMPOSIUM ON INNOVATION IN OHI
How current and future technology can help you and the public
On November 5, 2018 the obvious was stated by the government “Prevention is better than Cure”, but unless under the age of five it doesn’t include oral health.

Following almost a year in discussion with the NHS via AHSNs and Orcha, in order to maintain a Freemium version of the App, a new chargeable version will be required. It will need rebuilding, and funding. I intend to crowdfund the App in October to make it a white labelled chargeable version for the profession, but it has to be available for the public and the majority of DCPs in a freemium format similar to the current teeth4life App.
The App in its chargeable form will be £20 a month. Anyone who attends the course will get the future white labelled version free for life.

The Minimal requirements for the symposium are your mobile smart phone, charged up with data, and with the current teeth4life version downloaded, and an open mind. There will be some small group work as “no idea is a bad idea”, and ideally some feedback via surveys on your phone during the evening. You can register the teeth4life App for free now, care4teeth.co.uk

This is a lecture I went to along with another 5000 in Las Vegas, I will explain why I went and why some of you should go in March next year. It will be similar reason to mine.
To see how prevention could work, watch the video on the teeth4life App in My Care, Oral Cancer and carers, child GA prevention. The video format is to engage the general public, not impress the profession.
For some of my ideas on the future I made a video which I have deleted from the App, as I added a dental emergency section to the App in Treatment after our practices closed last year.
The future as April 2019
The future as June 2020

Many of my videos are on the teeth4life YouTube channel, and so you can see how I have hopefully improved as my early video attempts are still there. Please subscribe. I will share my experience with different freely available software. The goal is for me is to help you deliver your oral health advice with an eHealth product . Are you doing something similar? The content can be changed relatively easily, and while we will not agree on everything we could develop a consensus that we are all happy with, and a network of contributors to develop a great product for us and the public. The structure is more difficult to change, and that is why it needs further funding. Many of us have left the profession, but want to help support those just starting on their career. Help me, help you to help the public with my vision of promoting public prevention in oral health.
If you can’t attend the symposium, but want to learn how to use the App, and improve its content. Please email me, and when I get five who are interested in certain aspects I will arrange a zoom meeting. It would be interactive with advice from you on how the content can be improved and updated, and for those who collaborate, you could have the proposed new App free for life.
